At Balance Yoga, we offer a variety of class styles and yoga disciplines, as well as guided meditation and workshops. Please read below for a brief description of our primary offerings. When monthly workshops are offered, a complete description will be available on the home page.
Vinyasa Flow Yoga L1:
The L:1. is an introduction to Vinyasa Flow Yoga. Vinyasa Yoga is a yoga practice based on breath synchronized movements - a vigorous flow yoga with emphasis on strength and flexibility. This is a great class for beginners with modifications available for all levels. Level 1 is practiced in a non-heated environment and with a slower paced flow than our Level 2 class. Postures are broken down and instructors lead the flow at a deliberate pace with an emphasis on alignment and breath. This is a set sequence class to establish a good foundation. A great place to start your Vinyasa journey on the way to achieving complete balance in your practice. Vinyasa Flow L1 classes last 1 hour.
Vinyasa Flow Yoga L2:
Vinyasa Flow Yoga is a yoga practice based on breath synchronized movements - a vigorous flow yoga with emphasis on strength and flexibility. The L2 is taught in a heated, climate-controlled environment, Vinyasa Flow Yoga heals, detoxifies and exhilarates the body and mind with emphasis on ujjayi breathing, intention movements and focus. A great class for students who are ready to take the next step in their yoga journey. L2 classes will vary in sequence and theming from week to week and teacher to teacher helping students achieve balance in their practice and in their lives. Also available: L2 with No Heat. This is the same as any L2, but without the heated room. See schedule for times. Vinyasa Flow L2 classes last 1 hour.
Heated Fusion Flow combines the traditional 26 Hot Yoga postures with other Vinyasa Flow Yoga postures in a heated, climate-controlled environment.. Students will receive the benefits of a Hot Yoga class with further hip opening, upper body strengthening and core strengthening. This class combines longer holds in postures and flowing movements that will appeal all levels. The moderate pacing of this class makes it accessible to new and seasoned practitioners alike. The class is taught in a room heated to 95-98 degrees with added humidity. Heated Fusion Flow is a 1 hour class.
This gentle flow yoga practice is based on breath synchronized movements, a flow yoga with emphasis on mindful movements to increase body awareness and flexibility. This is a great class for beginners with modifications available for all levels. Ageless Yoga is done in a non- heated environment, with a slow paced flow. Postures are broken down and instructors lead the flow at a deliberate pace with an emphasis on alignment and breath. This is a set sequence class to establish a good foundation. Although this class is designed for the older yogi who is young at heart, this is great place to start your yoga journey no matter what age.
Yin Yoga is a specific approach to yoga that works on a very deep level to awaken the connective tissue of your body, also known as fascia. Studies have shown that it’s not just muscles that need conditioning as we age; connective tissue also needs a “work out” to avoid the hardening and stiffening that takes place in our bodies as we get older. The key to the Yin Yoga experience is 3 fold: take the shape of the pose, stay as still as you can while in the pose, and hold the pose for 4 to 5 minutes. These longer holds in stillness work the deep layers of connective tissue that hardens whenever we engage in vigorous physical activity. Yin Yoga is the perfect complement to our active Power Vinyasa Yoga practice as well as athletic disciplines such as running, skiing, bicycling and all team sports. This class takes place in a warm room and is 1 hour long. Guaranteed, you will leave feeling grounded and very deeply relaxed.
Calm your mind, settle your body and find a softer focus to your day as we introduce guided meditation at Balance Yoga. Meditation can be practiced seated on a provided backjack chair, on yoga blankets or with blocks for comfort and support. The class consists of a beginning breathwork with a brief description of that day's plan, then progressing into guided meditation drawing from many traditions which may include Mantra Meditation, Guided Imagery, Mindfulness, Chakra Crystal Singing Bowl Meditation and more. Beginners to practicing meditators will benefit from this class.
